Are Caucasian people, historically, from the Caucasus Mountains?

  2. It's generally thought that's the case. As yet no one has come up with a good explanation as to how they developed such pale skin and loads of different hair and eye colours in such a short space of time.

    One branch moved South and west across the North African coast and up into Spain in the stone age (Berbers) and another filtered down into North India and Pakistan (Aryan). You can still see the odd natural blond Pakistani. A final branch of the Caucasian family tree moved through Eastern Europe and became the bulk of Europeans you see today.

    For accuracies sake, a lot of Indians and North East Africans fall into the far end of the Caucasian spectrum. Just because they have brown or black skin, doesn't mean they aren't related. It's very hard to tell a Sudanese or Ethiopian skull apart from a Norwegian one, only the teeth give it away.

    Europeans probably arose from North East Africans to start with, they just got their colouring altered as an adaptation to lower UV levels. One big sprawling family.
