Caught speeding by vigilante ?

so i was going around 90 in a 35 and no cops where there but some of the locals said that they where calling the cops so i peeled out of there but i think they got my license plate number but i got back home and i have my car in my garage right now. can they do anything or is it possible i can still get in trouble with police...thanks

They can't do anything cause they didn't see anything.  They can pull your info and have a sheriff call you. Can't really do anything but tell you to slow down. They could send a cop to do some speed enforcement on that street try to catch you some other time.

   I will say this and dude and i'm the last to go preaching and I get so sick when people do it on here. And I never follow the speed limits either but never get that stupid but here's the deal. Wherever you was at and it was posted 35 was probably a residential area or in the city either way it's a area with a higher risk that's why its posted that way.  

    You need to keep in mind if a kid rode a bike out in front of you. You'll  kill the little joker. Then you would be in jail for manslaughter. There's no way you could avoid anything at that speed. Even if you got caught at that speed and hit nothing  but a cop stopped you. At that speed your going to jail.  Anything here 25 over you go before the judge.

   So just use a little common sense. I drive 90 a lot too but I'm also on the interstate when doing it. Oh and keep a look out for the guy with the 24 speed racing bike woooo......he's after you. What an idiot.

If they got your plate number then yes the police can use it to track you down. THey might just wait till the see your car on the street or they might just come to your house.

Usually, a sworn police officer has to observe you speeding. An average citizen can't make an accurate determination of how fast you were going. I wouldn't worry about it, but slow down!

legally im pretty sure the cops have no proof, but they can watch you and wait till they catch you doing something else
