What type of caulk do I need to seal holes and weather proof mounts on the top side of my fiber glass ocean cruiser boat?

  1. 3M has a product known as 5200 see this link:

  2. There are several different products for this, each has it's place.  Don't forget, bedding compound stays soft and seals bolted on equipment.  RTV and  Polysulfied are used to "caulk" !    Other products like marineTex are pretty good hole fillers.  So, read up on each and pick the best one for each application.

  3. 5200 is good if you never want it apart> I use marine silicone> It holds up good> Hole use a putty as most caulks don't hold in holes & they don't smooth out>
