So I'm writing a cause and effect paper on the short story "the monkey's paw", this is what i have so far:
Thesis:
Because of Mr. White’s stupidity, greed, and inability to stand up to people, his family suffers great tragedies.
body Paragraph1:
It is apparent that Mr. White is not very smart; this is demonstrated when he moves before thinking in chess, which is a rookie mistake (Jacobs 66). Then, he attempts to distract his son from seeing the mistake. Not only is he stupid, but he makes his stupidity obvious. Another example of this stupidity is when he grabs the paw from the fire, even after he was warned about its power. Then he wishes with it. Of all the stupid things this man could have done, he did the one that was most revered as taboo. Although his first wish for money really isn’t that bad, his second wish to bring his dead son back to life definitely constitutes as ignorant.
body Paragraph2:
Mr. White is very greedy. Instead of being happy and content with his life as is, he has to go and s***w everything up by being greedy and taking the paw from the fire (Jacobs 69). His greed just gets the best of him in every situation. When he pays Morris, he pays him something so small and insignificant he might as well have stolen it! His son jokingly says something about his father becoming greedy, which helps us assume that Herbert knew of a greed problem in his father previously. His first wish is for money, no surprise there. But when his second wish was to bring his dead son back, he took the cake. I do not know anyone so selfish and greedy interrupt someone’s death.
So i need help on writing the last. can someone help me plz?
