Cavaleiro, Imperial Monarch and Rougemont being considered for the Betfred Derby Trial
The anticipation is increasing for the Betfred Derby Trial, scheduled to take place at Lingfield on Saturday, the 12th
of May.
Trainers are busy running their best runners in workouts to prepare for this mega-event.
It seems that trainer, Marcus Tregoning is considering Cavaleiro for the race as he seems to be in good form.

The three-year-old colt, who is under the ownership of Guy Brook, looks to be a promising contender for the race.
The son of Sir Percy, out of Khibraat, has competed in five races since his career began, once finishing as a runner-up, twice in third place and scoring two victories.

His two consecutive victories will help him increase his popularity in the market as he might be able to complete a hat-trick.
In September, 2011, the chestnut colt bagged a narrow victory of a neck over, Harvard N Yale, in the Haynes, Hanson & Clark Conditions Stakes at Newbury.
John Gosden is considering, Thought Worthy, for participation in this race as he is in good shape and has the stamina for this race.

The son of Dynaformer, out of mare Vignette, finished as a runner-up in the Bet365 Classic Trial at Sandown on 28th April, 2012, as he finished after, Imperial Monarch.
Imperial Monarch and Thought Worth has a chance of renewing their rivalry on the track.
The A.P O’Brien trained bay colt has landed two victories in his two starts, and has a chance to complete a well-deserved hat-trick.
Rougemont, trained by Richard Hannon, is also likely to compete in this event.

This will add something extra to the race as he competed in the aforementioned race at Sandown and finished in third place.

With his participation, the race is likely to take an interesting turn.
Tower Rock, who is also under the training of A.P. O’Brien, might make it to the line-up for this event.

The three-year-old bay colt bagged a victory in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2yo Median Auction Maiden at Navan in October 2011, where he defeated, Diplomat, by ¾ of a length.
With such talented runners being considered for this race, it is bound to be a more than exciting event.
