Napoli were knocked out of the European competition at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in a close encounter that fired up the Partenopei’s hunger to make their mark on the continental stage once again. The Azzurri sit one place behind the last qualification spot held
by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775, and just need to bridge a three-point gap in order to earn a place in the next year’s gala, with just nine games to go.
The Azzurri are set to face the giants Juventus in the Coppa Italia final, a match that represents their last hope of attaining silverware this season. The striker insisted that he respects the opposition of the final, but stressed that the qualification
will remain their foremost priority. He insisted that given another chance at the big stage, they will go even harder in their quest for European glory.
While talking to Radio Marte, the aggressor said:
“We respect the Bianconeri a lot, but our goal is to secure third place. The Champions League was a unique experience and we want to contest in it again. It would be great and this time we will be even more prepared and clever, as [Coach Walter] Mazzarri
says, as the true creator of our results. He has managed the group perfectly.”
The goal-scorer added that no trophy could match their hunger for the European glory.
The Uruguayan went on to clarify notions that his stay at the club is conditional to the qualification. The striker insisted that it is not how he thinks about the situation, and said that he is happy at the club.
Edinson Cavani went on to extol the city of Naples, and the warmth of the people that he has experienced during his stay. The Azzurri star admitted that there will inevitably be a time to move away, but for now he wanted to stay at Napoli.
