Question:

Cavity prone despite constant teeth maintenance?

I'm 16. My teeth are going to h**l, I've had 4 root canals (due to severe cavities) and pending others. I've been diligent about brushing and flossing, my dentist suggests that my saliva has less antibacterial agent than I should, as well as it being more acidic. I don't know what to do except do my best to prevent further damage. My dentist is trying to save the teeth I have and is against tooth extraction. What are my options?

  1. if its not your hygiene, then it's your diet.

quit sugary foods and acidic drinks like diet soda.

also have your dentist give you a prescription flouride rinse for at night and during the day.

I like Prevident rinse.  You brush and floss your teeth at night.  Spit out the foam and do NOT rinse with water.  Then rinse with the flouride rinse for one minute.  Spit out and do not rinse.  No eating and drinking after.  This will ensure a coat of flouride on your teeth at night (the most susceptible time for cavities).

During the day, after breakfast and after lunch, brush and floss and then rinse with the flouride rinse.  No snacking or drinking for at least a half hour after rinsing.

  2. change your diet, eat healthy food increase vitamin c and exercises.reduce sugar intake and brush after every meal.

    i guarantee it works

  3. I study Dentistry, your dentist is quite right you can't do anything to your teeth except that you increase the times you brush and if you lose them dental prosthetic replacements will help you...

    no more options....
