  1. My guess is that the button on the front is stuck in the down or closed position, or the button contacts are shorted. It will force the drawer to open or close depending on the current condition, as it times out from opening or closing most recently.

  2. Their Are Many Things You Can Do:

    1. Reinstall The CD Drive Like This

XP:Start My Computer > Right Click > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager And Then Navigate To CD Drives And Expand Then Right Click Then Faulty Drive > Uninstall.

Vista: Just Type In Device Manager In The Search Box Then Do The Rest.

If The Way Above Does Not Work Do This

Open You Computer And Disconnect The CD Drive And Boot The Computer. Then Plug The Drive Back In Then Turn Computer On Again.

Note: Turn Off Computer When Disconnecting And Reconnecting.

If Neither Above Work It Could Be The CD Drive Button. Check If It Is

Damaged. If So Open The Drive And Pull The Button About Outwards.

If Button is Not Faulty Buy A New Drive Or If Under Warranty Phone The Manufacturer Or Where You Got The Drive From.

Also You Can Tap The Button Many Times But Could Make The Button Get Stuck For Ever

  3. Device manager > uninstall cd/dvd drive > restart your computer and let windows re-install iy

  4. The eject button is probably stuck. Turn the computer off and then firmly tap the eject button a bunch of times (20~50 times), Then restart you computer and see if it behaves.
