Cd formatting?

I'm trying to put a 697 mb movie onto a 700 mb cd-rw. I've done it before, but now every time I try to open the cd's folder or drag the movie to the folder it asks me to format the cd. I have also formatted a cd and afterwards, it has a lot less space. I just forgot how to just simply put stuff on a cd without formatting it. How do I do this? My computer has vista and the cd is a memorex.

Get something like nero and then you can burn.

copy or drag and drop files onto cd drive. right click on drive and write files to disc.

so far as a know CD-RW s can hold only 650MB, if you want to put more data ( you said your movie is 697MB)  your best bet is to use CD-R which can hold up to 700MB. and does not need to  format. good luck.
