Cd player.....toshiba se-r0094

Question

toshiba se-r0094 cd player When powered on via remote, or the open/load button.....says "HELLO","PROTECTED","GOOD-BYE" and shuts off again... It will not load a CD nor do anything except as stated above.How to proceed????sony dav-450 cd dvd player keep getting protected when trying to play cd.This as never happended before in 2 years what could be the reason?
