I'm not sure of the exact model number but it's the 130 dollar one at Circuit City they made a model before the news out. It's only a year old bought in Aug 07. Ok here we go. I had this Cd player in a 98 Ford Explorer. I wrecked the Explorer and bought a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I recently went out and bought the wiring harness and the mounting kit for the Jeep. I wired up the Pioneer plug to the Jeep plug, smiple as can be right? Wrong lol. I plugged everything in hoping to see the Cd player come on, nothing. So i pulled it out. Put the stock back in to check it. It comes on for like 2 seconds and turned right back off. It just shows the time, doesnt give me time to press am/fm or cd. Ok so i wired up my Pioneer to a battery charger to see if it worked. Nothing still. I have checked the pioneer fuse. In perfect shape. Can anyone help? Also forgot to mention that the cd player worked right before i pulled it out of the Explorer, (with it wrecked)

  1. It could be that you did not connect the REM terminal of your CD to the power. Connect the B+ terminal directly to the battery then connect the REM terminal to the ignition switch ( not the start switch)

  2. When you connected it to the battery charger did you connect both the yellow and red wires to positive? May be a dumb question. Also does this particular jeep use a ground strap that connects to the chassis of the stock radio, like many jeeps do? Did you connect that when you tried the stock radio again?

  3. when you connected the stereo to the battery, did you connect the ACC wire to the + post too?

the ACC wire is what allows the stereo to turn on when the vehicle is on... and turns off when the vehicle is off. this is to prevent the stereo from been left on while the car is not running so the battery doesnt die.

try that with a battery outside the vehicle and see if the stereo works now.

oh about the REM wire the other guy said.... that wire is only used for amplifier applications. it sends power on that wire when the stereo is on.. and allows the amp to turn on.  when the stereo is off... the wire has no current and the amp doesnt turn on. its just another safety feature to prevent the battery from dieing.
