i learned how to drive stick the other day, i'm good at shifting up and down, i'm also good at backing up straight with the trailer too, i just can't seem to go back scooting over to the right and left, i know on the road test coming up i'm going to have to parallel park (scoot over to the right) and i just get confused when i look at my mirrors when i start turning left and get blinded by my trailer, any advice anyone

  1. This helped me...

Buy a hotwheels or matchbox tractor trailer (Walmart for about $10- nothing fancy).  Set up eraser caps as cones on your kitchen table in the configuration of the part of the test you are having problems with. Then "play" with the truck backing, turning etc. (lip/motor noise optional)

You will get a mini-birds eye view of what is going on when you do the moves, and will be more confident pushing that trailer where it needs to go on test day.

Your family may think you lost it, but the technique is similar to what olympic athletes use prior to a big meet (called visualization training, or something like that)
