Cebuano chasing maiden victory in Dundalk On Twitter Handicap (Div I)
Cebuano is expected to bring up his maiden victory in the sport, by winning the Follow Dundalk On Twitter Handicap (Div I) at Dundalk in Ireland on Monday, July 16, 2012. A victory will earn him a cash prize of €3,850.
The track will be standard in the 1 mile, 2 furlong and 150 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 16:25 GMT, and a total of 14 runners will be battling out for victory. The competition is likely to be an interesting one and the spectators at Dundalk
will be looking forward to it.
The bookmakers have given a starting price of 4 to 1 to Cebuano and he can prove to be a very good choice for the punters as well. He has got a decent record, but has never managed to finish at the top of the table in his career.
Fraam’s son out of Ideal Figure has participated in 10 races and the best he could manage was the runner up position on six times. This clearly indicates what he is capable of doing, but it is surprising that he has not yet won his first race.
The seven-year-old gelding started off his career in August 2010 and was impressive on his debut, finishing second. He was priced 33 to 1 back then and no one would have expected him to battle at the front. Despite that, he almost caused an upset and surprised
one and all.
Looking at his solid run, the bookmakers awarded decent odds to the M. Halford’s trainee in his next outing, but the result was still the same, as he finished runner up once again. He followed this up with another second place finish, which was somewhat
encouraging for his team.
However, the impressive runner was unable to finish the season on a high and secured fifth place in his last race of 2010. He took part in a couple of events next year and managed to finish runner up in one of them.
The 2012 season did not start ideally for Cebuano, as he struggled in the first couple of events, but he bounced back strongly afterwards and ended up second in his recent two outings. He will be ridden by Shane Foley, who is a promising jockey.
