The Premier League side took on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 went on to win the game by one goal to nil.
Barcelona went on to dominate the possession in the game, but Chelsea managed to take their chance and make it count, as opposed to the Catalans.
The two teams are now set to face off in the second leg at the Camp Nou, a ground where Chelsea have avoided losing over the last three trips that they have made there.
Going into the second leg, Chelsea’s goal keeper, Petr Cech is feeling rather confident and believes that his side have what it takes to overcome their Spanish rivals.
"We've done well in the past there and need to reproduce the same kind of performance that we did and like we have before,” Cech told Sky Sports.
"It will be really important to score an away goal as well but we seem always to score there and, hopefully, we can replicate that."
The keeper then went on to admit that his side will have to spend a lot of time defending their one goal lead and that they can’t afford any slip ups in the upcoming game.
The keeper then went on to add: "We had to fight from the first to the last minute. We've done the maximum we could do against such a great side.”
"We've had some good results against them in the past and used that experience again. We made it really tight, but will have to play the same way in the second leg."
If Chelsea go on and continue to play against Barcelona in the same manner that they took them on in the first half, they could potentially go on and do the unthinkable, as they kick the Catalans out of the competition and make it all the way to the finals
of the tournament.
