http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837 has gone on to admit that the primary fault for the Blues falling out of the Champions League lays on the shoulders of the players and no one else.
The Blues went on to win the Champions League title, but this season they went on suffer a very early exit from the competition, as they were knocked out in the group stages.
With the team having picked up a series of poor results in recent weeks, they went on to part ways with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 was to get the team winning.
In his first Champions League game as Chelsea manager, he saw his team win by six goals to one. However, despite that win the Blues were knocked out of the competition in the group stages, since they failed to finish in the top two spots in their group.
Cech has now gone on to admit that it is primarily the players fault that the team got knocked out, since they were the ones who needed to put in match winning performances week in and week out.
"Unfortunately if you change your manager, you only change the manager, but the responsibility is on everyone," he told reporters. "We are all on the same boat, the manager and the players - the responsibility is the same for everyone. You are a team."
He then admitted to the club having dropped valuable points earlier on in the group stages which ultimately led to them getting knocked out of the contest.
"We had results where we didn't win and we lost away to Donetsk and to Juventus, but I think the main difference was the draw at home to Juventus where we had gone 2-0 up but we finished the game 2-2," he added.
"This is where the difference would have been. Unfortunately if you drop too many points in the group it is very difficult. We are out.”
Nonetheless, the team can still go on and prove their worth in the Europa League, since they have a very good chance of winning that competition.
