I plan on going to Cedar Point this friday with my class. I want to go on the the Demon Drop, Maxair, Magnum, Milleneum Force, Dragster, Raptor, and Mantis. How long would I expect to wait for each ride, and is going on all this within 9 hours possible? Thanks.

  1. Since your going on a Friday, I highly suggest you budget your time well. The Power Tower, Millenium Force, Dragster, and Raptor typically have longer lines. On average I waited for 45mins to an hour for each of those rides [I used to go there for band trips]. 9 hours is quite a bit so you should be fine. Just don't waste too much time in arcades, and considering your ride choices, be careful how often you eat. Have fun!

  2. yahh that wont take very long

demon drop will probably be a walk on and magnum will probably be as well

maxair and manti probably about a 1/2 hour wait

    raptor probably 45 minutes

millenium and dragster probably between 1-1.5 hours.

you forgot a major ride though: MAVERICK! one of the best ones in the park! that will probably be a 1.5-2 hour wait

and mantis isnt really that great and neither is demon drop so if you are running short on time, skip those.  also, you would probably like power tower (almost no wait) and wicked twister (15-30 minute wait)

    have fun!

  3. Most definitly.

  4. You can easily do all of that in 9 hours!!

  5. Going on a Friday you will have longer waits than during the week, but not as bad as on the weekend. Since most schools are out (yours I guess is not one of them) maybe a little longer. It is still early June, so I don't think you will have any problem getting it all in in 9 hours.

The Millenium Force and Dragster have the longest waits, since there is only one car on the track at a time (they go too fast for more). The waits on these can be 2 hours. Hit one of them when you first get in the park in the morning, they will be a lot less crowded first thing in the morning.

Demon Drop should be a relatively short wait since it is kinda lame, but wait until after morning, everyone runs to that first thing since it is the first ride in the park and the wait is usually longest in the morning.

Magnum line usually runs pretty fast (45 minutes if it is a  crowded day), go to that mid afternoon, especially if it is hot, they have fans in the line that spray a water mist.

The Mantis I only went on once and didn't like having to stand on the ride after standing in line for 2 hours (my reward should be I get to sit at the end of the line). The line shouldn't be too bad for that, wait whenever you have down time.

I always end my trip with the Raptor at night.  Give yourself an hour for that (the wait will probably be less). It is at the front of the park and you will likely be meeting your school group there at the end of the day, so that is a good ride to finish up with.

You can easily do all this in 9 hours and go on many other rides. All the rides have a sign out front of the lines with the expected wait time in line. They are pretty accurate or even shorter than what they say. A good way to get around in the park is to use the sky cars (if it isn't windy) and the train ride. They are one way rides and they can get you around while you sit and relax.  Have fun!!

  6. I was there on a friday and i think i got to do almost all of those rides. We only had 8 hours, It really depends on what time you get there. try to get there before the park officially opens so you have time to be first in line. You can make it happen.

  7. Yup!

  8. I'll go in order... and how busy the park is varies, but since Friday is supposed to be a sunny day with no rain, it should be moderately busy. Here's the ranges of wait times.

    Demon Drop: 0 - 15 minutes

MaXair: 20 - 35 minutes (best to ride in mid-afternoon)

    Magnum: 5 - 10 minutes

Millennium Force: 15 - 40 minutes (depends on how many trains are running)

    Top Thrill Dragster: 30 - 60 minutes

Raptor: 15 - 40 minutes (ride in the afternoon; morning is very busy.)

Mantis: 0 - 30 minutes (depends on how many trains are running. If I were you, though, I'd skip this one and hop over to Maverick instead.)

So best-case scenario, you'll be able to get through all the rides with only about 2 to 3 hours of waiting. Worst-case, 4 to 5. You should be able to ride everything with no problem. Also consider, though, that Cedar Point is a huge park, so count on a lot of walking. Try to ride things in succession. I'd recommend starting at the back of the park and working your way forward, since the front of the park is always mobbed at the beginning of the day.

And hey, if you have time, don't miss Maverick. You will not ride ANYTHING like it anywhere else. I guarantee that. It is the only roller coaster in the world that still gives me chills every time I get on it.
