Question:

Cedar Point and Disney World?

Since I live close to Cedar Point, I have been going to Cedar Point since I was very young. This December, I am going to Disney World for the first time. In many questions and on the websites, they say I will be doing a ton of walking in each of the parks. I was just wondering if the walking is about the same as Cedar Point or is it even more? I looked online and the amount of acres at each park is less than Cedar Point (Epcot is about the same), so I would assume it is less walking, but again, I don't know. The amount of walking has never been a problem at Cedar Point, but I was getting worried because everyone says its a a lot of walking at Disney World.

  1. Disney is awesome!! ive been there 3 times there is walking but you hardle notice it because of the atmosphere!! it is so good you will never regret it it really is the happiest place on earth! but you will not notice the walking

  2. Hey curious, I live in NEO and have gone to Cedar Point a ton of times--and Disney World so many times that I wrote a website for first time visitors to Disney World!! (See http://yourfirstvisit.net)

I think that at Disney you do (for a lot of different reasons) more backtracking, but overall it's not a materially huge difference.

If you have well-broken in shoes that you can walk in 2-5 miles a day you'll be fine.

Hope this helps, have a great trip, and check out my site!! Dave

  3. first, some of the parks are very small (Disney Hollywood Studios). so the actual distance you walk will probably be less. however, it is florida and its hot! so if you are not used to it, you may get tired quicker. as long as you drink plenty of fluids, are properly dressed and give yourself some breaks, you will be fine. but remember, there are four parks, plus resorts, shopping area, water parks... etc. so in total, over the number of days you will stay at Disney world, you will probably walk more.

by comparison, Disney does not have any record setting roller coasters but their theming is second to none. the rides have stories behind them and i like that. even the music that is played in the background helps to the atmosphere of the place. and the coaster they do have are fun.

  4. well, disney is a lot hotter than sandusky is so you get tired more quickly. plus, you know your way around cedar point and you probably know the best routes to get to everything.  for these reasons it will probably feel like more walking but it really isnt. i've been to cedar point many times and disney once and i didnt have a problem with the level of walking at all.

  5. technically i dont think the walking is more in distance but it seems longer because you have to wait in long lines (longer than cedar point) and have to battle with thousands of people so you will be tired my the end of the day, but its still an awesome place so enjoy yourself

  6. disney world in florida is huge! it requires a lot of walking. that is only because they have so many places to see. animal kingdom, epcot, and like 4 others. the first time i went, i was 5 and had an ear infection, so if i could do it, you can too

  7. I have been to both and I would say that walking at Disney probably seems like more.  I'm really not sure why.  Maybe because there is so much more to see and it's not all rides like Cedar Point.
