Hi! I went to Cedar Point yesterday (June 24th). We usually go around this time every year, and the lines are usually about forty minutes to an hour for the 'big' rides. I'm going back on August 9th with a friend and I was wondering, what are the lines like in August?

  1. It depends.  If you're going on the weekend, not sure what the 9th is, the lines will be absurd!! the best time to go is at the very end of August/ beginning of September when kids go back to school.  I always go around this time during the week.  Not real long lines for anything, its great

  2. The lines are almost nearly the same. The only rides that aren't are the small roller coasters (ie Disaster Transport).

  3. Hey, I was there last Sunday and the lines weren't a problem at all. It was supposed to rain and storm. We just got a little thunder and tiny drops of rain every now and then. My dad says the lines in August are very long. Since August is the time most kids are going back to school, that's probably the reason for the long lines.

  4. The lines throughout the summer are about the same, except on Saturdays when they are generally longer.  The best day to go I heard is Sunday because the lines are shorter, but I have never been to Cedar Point on Sunday.  I live 30 minutes away from Cedar Point so I usually go whenever I feel like it.

  5. I was there August 1st and 2nd last year and lines were pretty long but not terrible.  I think the typical wait was between 40 minutes to 1 hour for Dragster, 30-50 for Millennium Force, and 1 hour 15 minutes to 1hour 30 minutes for Maverick.  Some of that line for Maverick was because it was new, but it is still the most popular ride and by far the longest line.  My advice is to stay at one of Cedar Point's hotels so you can take advantage of their 1 hour early entry to the park.  That is the best time to ride Maverick because if you get in line ANY other time of the day when the general public is in the park, you're looking at at least a 1 hour wait as it is by far the longest line at all times with no downtime.  Millennium Force is also one of the rides they open 1 hour early for resort guests so you can go to Maverick 1st and then Millennium Force next and if things go smooth with no breakdowns etc, you can probably ride both by 10 am which is when they let everyone else in.
