Cedre Bleu fancying chances of a victory in Shawbrook Bank Graduation Chase
Cedre Bleu will be fancying his chances in the Shawbrook Bank Graduation Chase at Ascot in England on Saturday, December 22, 2012. He is not in very good form at the moment and things will be tough for him today.
However, the young challenger from France has the ability to deliver under pressure and his team will be expecting a strong result from him. The track conditions will definitely suit him more than anyone, as there has been a lot of rain around the venue
over the past couple of days.
Due to this, the going has become heavy and most of the participants will be hoping for an improvement before the start of action at 13:30 GMT. There are only four of them lined up for action, so the organisers would not want any of them to withdraw from
the competition.
The class-2 event has a cash prize of £15,640 for the winner, so everyone will be pushing extremely hard over 2 miles, 5 furlongs and 110 yards. They will need an extremely good stamina to thrive under such difficult conditions.
According to the bookmakers, no one will be able to come in the way of Solix, who has been given a general starting price of 11 to 10 by the bookmakers. He is expected to walk away with a dominant victory and the punters will definitely not gamble many bets
against him.
He will not be worried about the wet racecourse, as he has contested under such a situation in the past as well. Moreover, his performances in chase races have been really good, so his confidence level will be high.
The Ian Williams’ trainee has raced five times over fences, winning a couple of times whereas secured the runner up position once. He was unable to make an impression in his most recent event though, so there will be some pressure on him at the end of the
day.
On the other hand, Cedre Bleu can end up surprising one and all at Ascot, as he does have the potential to finish on top of the table.
However, the Paul Nicholls’ trained gelding will definitely need some luck for that to happen. He will be partnered by veteran jockey, Ruby Walsh.
