Ceiling Kitty to try her luck in the Group 1 Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York
After crushing all competition under her hooves at Royal Ascot, Ceiling Kitty is now headed to compete in the five furlong Group 1 Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York on 24th August, 2012, where she will take on runners, who are
older with more experience.
Trainer Tom Dascombe discussed this plan and told the media that:
"I think instead of giving away a penalty, we'll take on her elders in the Nunthorpe. It's a big ask but has been done before, and it's a big ask giving 3lb to improving fillies also.”
It seems that the daughter of Red Clubs, out of mare Baldovina, will have no trouble at York, especially on the back of a Royal Ascot meet, when she competed in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes on 20th June,
2012, over a distance of five furlongs.
The bay filly was practically unstoppable under rider, Richard Kingscote, as she aced the event and notched the victory by 1 length ahead of the Michael Bell trained, Hoyam.
Tom Dascombe spoke of her brilliant performance and her post position, which helped her a great deal, he said:
"We were drawn well, got a great lead and the race was over one furlong out."
He added:
"It was fantastic for the owner (Andrew Black) and great for the yard.”
Owned by Andrew Black and The Master Bettors, the filly successfully completed her hat-trick in this Group 2 event, and has now set her sights on bigger and better things.

She has demonstrated superior racing skills on a number of occasions, and her racing record is all the proof anyone needs.
Out of five starts, the filly has claimed three victories, and finished once as a runner-up. The Queen Marry Stakes was her first Group victory.
The two-year-old raised her esteem when she competed at the Knavesmire racecourse in York on 18th May, 2012, where she succeeded over the Mel Brittain trained, Mayfield Girl, by 2 lengths in the Langleys Solicitors LLP E B F
Marygate Fillies' Stakes (Listed).
