Ceiling fan wiring - one black/one white wire from fan to one black/one white/one red wire from ceiling box?

I need to connect my new ceiling fan and light with remote that has one black, one white and one ground wire to my ceiling box that has one black, one white, one red and one ground wire. The room also has a single switch. Can someone let me know how to hook it up correctly?

You should be able to connect the fan white and the line white, and the fan black with the line black. Put a wire nut on the red and do not use it. (red would be if the switch was for a fan and separate light switch). The fan ground could be wrapped around the mounting s***w of the ceiling box if there is no bare ground in ceiling box.

ok first wat u need to do is find out wat is live...... The black or the RED from ur ceiling box.....

if the black is live then (u will not use the RED wire so wire  nut the red.. THIS IS JUST A SAFETY PRECAUSEION) Then sence the black is live u need to connect the black wire from the ceiling to the black from the fan..... wire nut the white from the ceiling to the white from the fan.... and wire nut the ground from the ceiling to the ground from the fan........./   but if the red is live then u wire nut the red from the ceiling to the black from the fan.... (BUT DONT FORGET TO WIRE NUT THE BLACK IN THE CEILING FOR SAFETY REASONS) wire nut the white from the ceiling to the white from the fan.... wire nut the ground from the ceiling to the ground from the fan.....   U ALWAYS WANT TO START WITH THE GROUND FIRST SO THAT U WILL NOT BE WORKING WITH LIVE WIRES THEN AFTER THE GROUND... USE THE WHITE.... AND AFTER THAT THE LIVE WIRE......
