  1. above sounds correct but forgot to add 'stand back when switching on' BOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM

  2. The fact that you just described the factory wiring block on the inside of the light kit connection on the wrong side of the fan indicates you have no idea of what you are doing when it comes to electrical work. However, it is also my experience that people who have no idea on how to do electrical work continue on their own way of trial and error and usually end up calling my company after 1/2 their house has no power and now will cost them twice as much as if they just called me in the first place. After you blow up that fan and if you are still alive call a certified contractor and have them do it for you.

  3. This should help a little-

  4. If that's all you've got, you'd better get an electrician in to look at it.

If you've got 3 red, 2 earths, 2 black and a black with red tape, connect the brown of the fan to the black with red tape, the blue of the fan to the two blacks and the earth of the fan to the 2 earths.

  5. As an electrician, I recommend you call one.  It will be cheaper to call an electrician than rebuild your house.  I couldn't tell you without seeing it what is up.  You would have to do some testing to find out what is what.  If your house is older then the wiring could be strange and different.

  6. If you don't know what you're doing with electricity, it's best to either call an electrician or someone with experience at doing this sort of job. Electricity is not something you mess about with and not for amature DIYers. You either know what you're doing or you don't. Electric shock isn;t the only risk, there's a fire risk as well if you do something wrong.
