Celebrities congratulate Sachin Tendulkar on 50th Test century
Sachin Tendulkar was 16 when he first appeared in the nets of the Brabourne Stadium. He was not playing for the Indian team yet, but practicing in the nets. As fate would have it, Amir Khan a renowned Bollywood actor happened to be shooting in the same stadium.
As the Indian team practiced in the nets he stood with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kapil-Dev-c70234, Vengsarkar and a few other senior players. However he could not help but notice the young boy who was being allowed to play in the nets. The young boy was middling the ball perfectly, yet he
was ‘so small and so young.’ Amir asked Kapil and Vengsarkar who the boy was. “Who’s he? How come I don’t know?” Amir was told he was a boy they were considering for the Indian team, his name was Sachin Tendulkar.
Almost 22 years later and the same boy, now 37 years old and no longer young, reached 50 Test centuries, a mark that has eluded all batsmen that have ever played the sport. It is in fact amazing and extraordinary that Sachin Tendulkar has now been in the
business for more than 21 years and still maintained that level of play that makes him better than everyone else. While most other batsmen and players are preparing to bid farewell to the game in the late 30’s, Sachin has averaged an almost bradmanesque 83
with the bat in the year 2010. He also reached the 1000 run mark in the calendar year at an average of 93.
Over the last two decades there has been absolutely no dip in the abilities of the little master, in his application or his commitment and dedication to the game itself. Very few individuals have what it takes to be at the top for such a long period of time.
The responsibilities on his shoulders were immense from the very beginning. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 is a nation of 1 billion cricket fanatics who have rather high and sometimes even unreasonable expectations from their players. Sachin Tendulkar has somehow managed to fulfil
and even exceed those expectations. He has truly lived up to them.
According to his coach Gary Girsten, Sachin Tendulkar is perhaps one of the most hard working player in the team and the way he practices is an inspiration for all the youngsters in the side. Following his record 50 Test Hundreds, many celebrities came forward
to congratulate the little master, which included, former cricketers, bollywood actors, singers and cricket commentators.
Some of the tweets congratulating him were;
“Lata Mangeshkar (Queen of Melody): Sachin ...iske aage hum, aur Kya kahein? (Sachin... what do we say after this?)
Heartiest congratulations! U have brought further glory to d country! God bless u!
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asha-c46250 Bhonsle (renowned singer): Many Congrats, If he doesn't deserve Bharat Ratna even now.. I wonder who does!!

@bhogleharsha there is little doubt in my mind that this is one of the great moments in test cricket.
@JohnSunCricket (John Etheridge) Sachin...totally untainted, always dignified, supreme role model, universally admired. No modern player carries such respect.”
These heartfelt messages from celebrities speak volumes of the calibre of this cricketing phenomenon who has managed to excel in the field of cricket for the longest time. He has now played the most Test matches compared to any cricketer and it would not
be long before he scores a 100 international Test hundreds, an achievement unparalleled in the history of the sport.
As I once wrote in a tribute to the little master, “Some 5 decades ago Neil Armstrong first landed on the moon. A few years before that, Stephen Fleming invented penicillin. The 20th century gave us Einstein, Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. It gave
us Maradona and Donald Bradman, it gave us Ayrton Senna, Pete Sampras and while many had thought that God would probably decide that these are just enough men to last a century, there was one little surprise that God still had in store for us. As the saying
goes, all good things come in small Packages, God gave mankind Sachin Tendulkar.”
