Question:

Celebrity activists and hypocrisy?

Every once in a while, I hear harsh comments on celebrity activists. They blame celebs with promoting themselves using charity and not show enough effort. (like Roseanne recently said about Jolie-Pitt "“Angelina Jolie and her vacuous hubby Brad Pitt make about 40 million dollars a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away 3 millions of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a c**p about humanity")

What are your thoughts about the subject? Not just about Jolie&Pitt but all celebrities that are into activism?

  1. They are between a rock and a hard place.

Damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

Much of it is just keeping their names in the media, advertising sells,

if they have a worthy charity so much the better. Fans make them celebrities, buy their merchandise and go to their movies, I am glad that they give something back to charitable causes, it is more than I can give.

  2. There is enough attention paid to these over-priced bobble heads. They do it both to help and for the press. But, really, they are not intellectual giants at all. Frankly, I'm sick of hearing about them at all.

  3. I think they personally don't have to give a dime to anyone then you wouldn't be happy then either would you?

EDIT:::: I didn't mean you personally...I meant people who critisize them.
