Celestial Halo, the most promising candidate for the Bathwick Tyres Kingwell Hurdle on 18th February
The Grade 2, £34, 170 Bathwick Tyres Kingwell Hurdle is to be raced over two miles at Wincanton on Saturday, 18th February. The race will get contested by five runners.
Binocular, Enrique’s eight-year-old bay gelding out of mare Bleu Ciel Et Blanc, is one of the most promising entries for the race. Under training Nicky Henderson, Binocular has raced six times during the 2011 season. Half of the races have been credited against his name as victories. He has been sent as a favourite multiple times during his career.
He won the Grade 1, Williamhill.Com Christmas Hurdle on 15th January at Kempton for which he was sent as a 13/8 favourite. Next on 5th February, Binocular won the Totesport 0800 221 221 Contenders Hurdle at Sandown. Once again he raced through the track as an undisputed 1/10 favourite of the race.
Binocular was deprived of a hat trick due to a fourth position finishing in the next start. He won the final race of the 2011 season, Grade 1 Williamhill.Com Christmas Hurdle on 26th December at Kempton. He was the 5/4 favourite on the field of five competing.
The race today will be his seasonal debut and how pleasing it would be for the connections, will get disclosed soon.
Another worthwhile entry that is part of the lineup is Celestial Halo, Galileo’s eight-year-old bay gelding out of mare Pay The Bank. He concluded the 2011 season posting a victory and cracked into the new season claiming his first race.
He won the Totescoop6 Levy Board Handicap Hurdle on 31st December at Newbury on a track of eleven contesting. His seasonal debut victory was in the Grade 2 Stanjames.Com Champion Hurdle Trial on 21st January at Haydock. Celestial Halo was the 6/5 favourite on the track of four participants.
Trained by Paul Nicholls, Celestial Halo is heading for his second start of the year.
The six-year-old bay brown gelding trained by Evan Williams, Lucaindubai recently posted his seasonal debut victory. He won the Best Odds Guaranteed With Williamhill.Com Mobile Handicap Hurdle on 14th January at Kempton.
Lucaindubai was the 3/1 favourite on the field contested by ten. He was able to post a victory after racing the second start of the new season and is to record the third race of the season.
