I'll be in senior year next year of high school. I've been seeing a psychiatrist to help improve my lacking social confidence so my final year of high school doesn't completely low. So my psychiatrist, who is very well qualified and well known throughout the country, thinks I should start off on Celexa. I'm all ok about it in the office but as soon as I get home (my whole family is about pharmacy/medicince) everyone starts warning me about the side effects and a bad idea for the prescription.
I read up online about it and I'm scared shitless. Loss of inhibitions, permanent loss of things taken for granted (oh, the possibilities), bizzare physical side effects. Everything I see seems to be split 50/50 in good and bad (success versus failure or more importantly permanent side effect damage). I feel so scared about taking the meds now. Can any professionals give me a better idea of what I'm facing?
