I recently bought an Unlocked Sony Ericsson K850i from China, and on the EMS site, it says "Vancuver Canada Handed over to Customs". This phone is already avalible in Canada, and I just found it at a much cheeper price online so I got it. How long should this take?

  1. You may want to read this link... it seems that Taxes, and import duties are very common for Canada, and it mentions websites don't always post that.

The 2nd link may help as well.

From what I am reading, this may just be a normal step, so far. I believe there are contact numbers at the 2nd link... as far as paying, beats me, but, IMHO (which counts for beans), I couldn't see why not, as long as the item is legal, and meets the standards they have. I'd give them a call.

  2. My guess would be because you bought it from another country you didnt get charged taxes.....

Probably why they held it. I would think you're not oging to get it.

Not sure about canada, but if it's like America you have to disclose to the state during tax season if you purchased online goods.
