If you didn't have a prerecording of your voice on your cell phone would an automatic voice messaging service come up instead? Also would this come up after the cell phone rung or before if you had it turned on? Also if you had the cell phone turned off would it come up?

  1. Usually a default recording is present that says something like "The person you are trying to reach at ###-###-#### is not available. Please leave a message after the tone."

If the phone is turned on it will more than likely ring first before going to voicemail and if it is off it should go straight to voicemail right away.

  2. yes, if you don't record your name or greeting, it just says 'your call is being answered by automatic voice messaging system' and then it usually says your phone number to the caller.  then it beeps and they can leave a msg.  if your phone is powered on, it will ring a certain # of times and then the call goes to VM.  you can tell your carrier how many times you want the phone to ring before calls go to VM- if you don't want it to ring long then like 3 rings, or if you want it to ring forever so you have time to pick up the call, they can set it for 10 rings before VM picks up.  if your phone is turned off, the call goes directly to VM and the caller doesn't have to wait for it to ring and ring and ring.

  3. yes to all
