can someone please explain simply what a mussel cell is? Please make the answer short and simple, no more about 5 sentences. Thanks!

  1. -it is a specialized cell that has a nucleus.

    -it is found in the active parts of the body.

    -it can undergo anaerobic respiration in the absence of oxygen, during vigorous exercise.

    -there are pairs of muscles called antagonistic muscles; whereby as one muscle contracts the other relaxes

    -muscle cells form a tissue called a muscle.

  2. Do you mean muscle cell?

    Muscle cells are contractile cells which contract to allow movement.

    Smooth muscle is in rings in the oesophagus and intestines and squeezes to push food through the gut by peristalsis.

    Skeletal muscle has fibres which slide over one another to allow contraction and pulls on bone to allow movement of limbs.

    Cardiac muscle is found in the heart and contracts to pump blood around the body.
