Cell phone (Sony Ericsson W910i) turns itself off...

Question

Every 30 seconds the w910i screen goes blank, vibrates once, and then the screen remains blank for a further 15 seconds. As it comes back on it searches for signal again. The battery is a third charged - it makes no difference if I plug it into the charger.
