Question:

Cell phone battery issue?

by  |  earlier

I have been using a charger in my car that is from a different cell phone company than my own. I have been using it for about 6 months. Now, my home charger won't work on my phone. I have to go out to my car and charge the phone and even then it won't stay charged but for 30 minutes. Any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated! Should I go out and buy a new battery? Will that help? How much do cell phone batteries normally cost?

  1. Possibly a new battery--unless you've dropped your phone or there's a short in your power cord.  New batteries really do tend to range in price but aren't horrible.  On Amazon, I'm seeing some for as little as 3, with original prices at 40ish.

  2. One of the worst things that you can do to your battery is use a car charger. They are often unregulated and cheaply built. You may have ruined your battery. You likely need a new one.

  3. you may need a new battery. How long have you had it. I had to buy one as well. the one that came with the phone didn't stay charged too long either. I bought a new on  ebay, for less than $5.00 ya, for real! I now have 2 batteries.  dont change battery chrger brands with the phone. keep all the same... you may be burning it out.

let battery die, and charge for 1 to 3 hrs.

if all fails, chuck it and get a new one. EBAY!
