Cell phone calls disappearing from history?

Question

why do calls disappear from my history. I was on the phone with my friend last night and his phone kept losing service (really bad service in his house). When i would go to look at our calls, shouldn't all of our calls be there. I was trying to figure out how long we were on the phone. What's wrong? Can anybody help? It is a Verizonon phone if that helps anyone.

Telling us it is a Verizon phone does no good at all.  We need to know the make and model.  Like Motorola V3, Blackberry Curve, LG Shine, etc
