Last week I deactivated a cell phone. I put the minutes on another phone. Gave it to my mother. Her friend got a call from that phone Friday. I still have it. There is no service on it. How can this be? What should I do?

  1. Contact your service provider.

  2. Report it to the cell phone company and make sure it is deactivated. When you speak to someone at the cell phone service provider be sure to write down their name, the time and date you spoke to them and ask for some sort of reference or confirmation number so that if you have further problems you can show that you have a record of this complaint. I would also ask if you can send them a written notice about the problem so that there is a paper trail in case the problem continues.

    Good Luck.

  3. Not a crime, a mistake.  What has happened is the programing was not taken off the first phone.  Take it into the service provider and tell them what happened.  It does happen occassionally.
