Cell phone marketing, unsolicited SMS, how can one stop this nuisance?

Isn't it illegal ? OR SMS is a different category ?

you have to call your cell phone carrier and you need to talk to customer service and actually talk to a person and have them block the marketing!! but you actually have to go and talk to a real person and make sure they do it while your on the phone with them my lil sister racked up a bill with those stupid marketers!! so i had to call them and yell

type DND (for 'do not disturb') and SMS to your customer care number... it will take one month for blocking the unsolicited marketing messages...

cellular services never allow marketing on mobile without costumer permission.if it is cellular sms call to costumer care.

Yes it is a nuisance at times when you think the SMS is from your friends or family members then you feel disappointed by

silly msgs.  

I do not know of the telephone  number but you can check with

your service provider for more details.  Its illegal to call on the phone as per the new law but sending SMS is different.

You should call your telephone company customer care and

get  your mobile number removed from the SMS marketing list.    Its silly how they use SMS to call people.  Its not allowed in the USA you can sue them for harassment.

Government is planning to avoid this kind of "unnecessary calls" if you don't want to hear any advt calls , this will be a option: there will not be any: so there is a plan and work is going on like providing permanent mobile phone numbers & etc
