Cell phone number question?

my phone died last night from water damage so i need to go get a new one today. i have an iphone, so i know i wont be able to get out any info from it. but will i still be able to have the number? i live in georgia but go to school in ohio. i dont want an ohio phone number.

    Your phone number is assigned to your sim card and they generally survive the dunking!!! All you need to do is to get a new phone and then put your existing sim card into the new phone and your number will follow it. If your contacts were saved to the sim they will also follow!

  3. Yes - you can keep the same number, they will need to replace your SIM card (which stores your number) along with a new phone/device. You could even keep your number, even if you went to another carrier as they would be providing you with a new phone/SIM as well.


  4. You should be able to keep the same number. They just give you a new phone, and switch your account to that one. As you said, all info in your phone is lost, but you'll have the same number.
