Cell phone plan question.?

Ok, heres the story, my 2-yr contract for verizon ends in may of 09. but there was this thing that one person in the family plan (i'm in a family plan) can get a new phone in january of 09. I want to get the lg dare. Will the phone if i get it in january be cheaper than normal? If so, how much? And, if the discount is greater in may, when the contract expires, is it worth it to wait until may for a greater discount?

The one line you can upgrade is the primary. It is an annual upgrade, and it is the regular two-year discount granted to every other line on the account.  If you hold off to the upgrade date, not only will you get the regular upgrade price, but, in addition, you will be eligible to receive an extra $50 off the primary line phone.

The only real deal you get is when you switch carriers. If you're not going to switch, the discount depends on how long you've been with them and if you are going to upgrade to a higher priced plan. Still, the only people getting big discounts are the ones switching carriers. Also, considering how many other models are going to come out between now and January, there's just no way to tell how much of a discount Verizon will give you.
