I have just moved from the US to Helsinki. In the US, there was Cingular, Verizon, Sprint etc... and you would go to one of their locales and they would offer you the plans and stuff and set you up. What is the equivalent in Helsinki of that ? In other words, i want to get a mobile up & running here, what should i do ?

  1. You can visit the stores of Elisa, DNA and Sonera (Sonera Piste) to get started, the staff there will do their very best to help you out.

  2. The most common operators are DNA (the best!) , Elisa ,

Saunalahti, Kolumbus and Sonera. You can find one of their shops from the internet. If you want a pay-as-you-go , you can also buy them from the closest R-kioski ( small kiosks, [like newsagents] that are everywhere). For locating shops www.eniro.fi (>keltaiset sivut) is quite good with maps.  Hope this helps!

  3. There are many Google websites that can help you:
