  1. good question..

consider an example of a mitochondrion..

it has inner membrane folded into numerous cristae..

thus, an intermembranal space is created..

    all these collectively help in:

creating proton gradient for oxidative phosphorylation,

providing site for the attachment of the enzyme complexes aiding in electron transfer, that leads to the production of ATP..

    in the same way,

in a cell, say: "muscle cells"

more number of mitochondria are there..

obviously because muscle cells have to use energy (ATP) created by them!!

    hence,

    we can say that,

    in that muscle cell structure,

we found more number of mitochondria than any other cell..

thus, the structure depended upon the function it performed..

    and that function was:

production of energy in form of ATP..

in the same way, you may also consider an example of chloroplasts, which have:

    grana

    thylakoids etc..

these all function in the photosynthesis..

    here again,

the structure of the chloroplast depended upon the function it performed..

    hope that helps!!

  2. Is this a homework question??

Are you talking about the different between muscle cells, blood cells, bone cells, skin cells ect....???

    The different shapes??

    More info would be great.

  4. if a cell is there to look pretty (like ppl on reality TV shows) they look pretty.

if a cell is there to actually do stuff it might look more like a camera man, filming the pretty ones.

  5. This  structure-function relation exists at all levels of biological organization.
