The difference between prokaryotes and eukaryotes in definetly noticeable.  When we look at a certain type of prokaryotes such as bacteria, it is noted that they lack cholestorol as a fluidity buffer.  Instead they posses another lipid.  The bacteria cell wall also has peptidoglycan (different levels for gram negative and gram positive).  The glycoproteins on a bacteria cell wall is also different from the eukaryotic cell hence they are able to launch immune responses when PAMP's (Pathogen Associated Molecular Proteins) are located on their cell walls by T cells.  Lastly the bacteria cell wall contains endotoxins (specific to gram negative bacteria).
