  1. We just changed  to  Solo part of Bell  very happy we were with Rogers for years     Fido is allso around   shop around  Real Canadian  super store has phones

  2. Telus owns most of the cell phone towers in Alberta and other companies buy bandwidth from them.  I believe you can get pay as you go from them, not sure exactly how it works.

  3. Not sure that UK phones will work on the Canadian system. Admittedly, I've never tried. But you can pick up a good used phone in Calgary in any event.

Telus is the big phone provide in Alberta, and they do have a pay-as-you-go service. Minimum of ten dollars a month, it'll cost you about 29 cents per minute, buy more time as you need it. But Telus is very reliable and omnipresent nationwide. Of course, in Calgary, it won't matter with which provider you go with, they'll all work well - Calgary is one of the biggest cities in the land. Every service provider has a finger in the pie.

  4. is rogers , bell mobility , telus  . might be a few others not sure if your uk phone would work
