Question:

Celtic Park capacity?

My pet hate is empty seats in stadiums when fans are scrambling for tickets.

Celtic Park holds 60,857 and i can't remember the last time it hit 60,000 and noticed many empty seats next to the main stand today. Is this restricted view or segregation? I remember when Martin O'Neil was there it was 60,000 every other week. Is the capacity lower now or is it because some fans stay away because Strachan is in charge?

By the way The Emirates Stadium holds 60,355 and always hits 60,000 at each home game including this weekends game against Newcastle which was 60,067.

  1. The fans at ibrox is the same, the football from the old firm now a days is dire, it's somthing to do with the managers i think.

but look at the quality of football your seeing from Arsenal you cant really compare celtic's to it.(actully no where near it) but your right i dont think eaither old firm fans like there managers and thats sumthing to do with the low capacity.

T, Arsenal c**p,hahaha whats your next joke. take it you didnt watch them yesterday and last season?

  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last time was  Aberdeen, and i suppose the reason for this is because Aberdeen sell all the away tickets they receive and the segregated for this game is only 3 row's of seats or about that, its about 10/15 rows for Rangers, the rest of the SPL club's don't sell all there away tickets so count them out.

But the so-called Celtic faith-full have a history of this, remember the 90's and there 15'000 crowds,  they got just over 56k for last weeks Falkirk game..And to be honest with you, i can see it getting worse..

  3. oh come on you can't even compare stadiums, the Emirates is an amazing stadium, top notch in my opinion, you walk into that ground and you actually say wow this is amazing.

Am not going to slag off celtics ground though, but in all fairness to the celtic fans they don't have the money, just like every football fan,to watch their team every single week.

In saying that though 3 of us went to the emirates last season on more than one occasion and for one game including travelling, food etc it cost us approx £220 for one game.

I know where you are coming from though,I hate to see empty seats but with the club and so many websites selling tickets nowadays it's not often you see a game with not one seat empty, which is a real shame.

T,I am a rangers fan but the arsenal game yesterday was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it

thank you cindy,it's just you know what it gets like in here sometimes when you dare mention an english team lol

  4. it's segregation.. At old firm matches they leave the entire row empty..  But, what annoyed me was the poeple leaving with 15 minutes to go.  i know some people like to leave early for buses etc, but, not at an old firm match. You never see as many leave.  :)

Don't know much.... Says it all really.... Doh!!!

Bluenose, you can comment on anything you like...  :)

That may have something to do with it but, i think many find the football pretty boring at times..  I never miss a home match but, sometimes even i can understand why people won't pay the money to watch.

  5. Arsenal are c**p.good football with kids,dont mean squat,walcotts class,but you want win nowt,strachans done us proud,2 last 16s ,3 in a row.

  6. Have you heard of the phrase you can fool some of the people some of the time but you cant fool all the people all the time. As far as I am concerned it would be quite hard to get 60,857 fools all to be able to get to celtic park in the one day.

Many would not be able to remember what a bus was or they may be getting their therapy or in the pub drunk as monkeys.

Never understood the reason any one would go and see a Rangers or Celtic match and part with hard earned cash

  7. it was full house
