Can't believe that was 8 years ago. What are your memories of the day?

Also did you think at the time, this game would signal our dominance in the league?

  1. Nice to see first thing in the morning

    have a good good thursday

    see you all this evening

  2. Unfortunately as I and especially ex- Ms. Charlie were awaiting the imminent arrival of Mini Charlie I was not actually present at the match, as in those days I worked in hospitality, so sunny Saturdays in family pizza restaurants did not offer the chance of days off.

What I do remember VIVIDLY was those around me were all Rangers fans and slowly but surely their heads drooped lower and lower; in fact I think Big Ally was sent home for throwing stuff round the kitchen at full time.

I remember seeing the match in its entirety later on and the hairs on the back of my neck just standing on end at the sheer magnificence of the performance on the pitch that day.

The night is darkest before the dawn, and what a dawn broke that day.

    HAIL! HAIL!

  3. A true humping of the opposition and a wonderful memory....the other one that has been mentioned I can't remember at all...think it might be one of those amnesia things brought on by a huge shock!

  4. How sad Anne Marie, that you need to go back that far to find something to smile about.

You know deep down your team are in for a hiding on Sunday, poor attempt to deflect the flak !

And from someone who slags me off if I mantion last season, which ended only 3 months ago.

8 years from now, Rangers fans may well be reminiscing of a similar result, only this time in our favour.

  5. was a good day they deserved a humping they deserve one again this weekend

grand old mason smith and his 11 eejeits

  6. i was working in a celtic poub in Glasgow when that game was played, bit mental it was but i also remember the silence when Rangers beat them something like 5-1. Football really is a wonderful thing in Scotland, crazy what a few goals can do to people, i wonder how many heart attacks games such as the Old Firm have induced...infact il ask that one lol

  7. What a fantastic game and result.

That year was the first our company bought the executive box and I remember thinking that I should be out there, with my Celtic brothers but after that game I thought it brought me luck. I have remained behind glass ever since. Hahahaha!!!!

  8. The score was 6-2.

My most favourite Celtic goal was scored in that game- Henrik Larsson nutmeg on Bert Konterman and then chipping Klos.

  9. rub it in

  10. 6-2 to the mighty celts

i have the limited edition picture above my bed lol

    sunday 27th August 2000

  11. my memories are very clouded, too many shandies.it was total euphoria mixed with a bit of unbelieving of what had happened.i always believe we will dominate the league ever since  saint martin came to the club and am still believing it now.

  12. though not a celtic fan my memories are of a massive hangover the next day caused while drowning my sorrows....

  13. I was working and didn't find the score out till I got on the bus home and there was a drunk Irish guying singing, and all the huns on the bus were raging!!!!

Brilliant day, and it definitely signified us starting to dominate the league.

    Hail hail.
