Celtic keeper keen to show Dundee United draw was a misstep
Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster says he is determined to keep a clean sheet against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday 27 November, in order to prove that the team's draw with Dundee United was little more than a misstep
in their pursuit of the title.
The Hoops had taken the lead in the game at Celtic Park on Saturday 20 November through in-form striker Gary Hooper in the first half. However, they could not hang on to claim all three points as defender Sean Dillon scored with an injury-time header to
send United back east with a share of the spoils.
Forster, who is on loan from English Premier League side Newcastle United, claims that the late slip-up has been nipping at his mind all week and is eager for a strong showing against Caley at Celtic Park.
He told Celtic's official website: "Everyone was disappointed with the result and it's been a bit of a tough week for some people, but we just have to be positive and look forward to the next game and try to win every game from now on until the end of the
season. Obviously it could turn out to be a good point but we know we should have come away with the three points.
"The manager was obviously disappointed. We had so many chances but 1-0 is always such a dangerous scoreline and it just takes one mistake or a slip or fall and it's 1-1. You just have to keep your concentration for the full 90 minutes. Everyone just has
to try and do their job if they can and if you do that you would fancy us to beat any team that comes to Celtic Park."
The late draw against United saw Celtic lose ground against defending champions Rangers. Their Old Firm rivals are now three points clear at the top of the SPL.
