he has to keep them until their contract is up after that he can get rid of them...they are not exactly going to drop money to play for another team and no one will honour their current wages...so they will continue to get paid while not doing very much..if anything..all right for some..and if we are all honest we would like to be able to do the same..lol

It's called having a watertight contract of employment-doofus.

Would you move from your current place of work to somewhere paying half your wages-come on think about it?

the guys signed contracts which they have every right to see out until the end.  plus, they are onto big loyalty bonuses for doing so.  they can then walk free in the twilight of their careers and get a nice retirement in america, the english championship or otherwise.

if they didnt have good wages and a nice healthy loyalty bonus to look forward to, they may be a bit more keen to move somewhere else for money.  

and quite why balde doesnt get a game baffles me.  gravesen yes, he isnt exactly a good player.  but balde has proven he can do a job but doesnt get a game.  very odd.

I think that sometimes scottish managers are a little too hasty with there contracts and this is what happens .you pay good money then the players get fed up when they dont get picked every wk ,then they stop performing altogether .shorter contracts are sometimes better.
