Celtic relieve Olivier Kapo of his duties
The Scottish Premier League action continues for Celtic FC with conflicting news in the air regarding the management of the club. The French player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olivier-Kapo-c28507 has been let go by the board after lack of agreement with the player.
Kapo rendered his services for the club as a winger since November 2010. According to him, he was offered a contract that was doomed to cease in 2012, but due to the unjustified change of terms, he was forced to leave the club against the will of manager,
Neil Lennon. The French winger said that the coach wanted him to stay but the financial management refused to concur with his demands.
The management, on the other side of the fence, justified that the actions were taken in accordance with Olivier’s performance, prior to his exit from the club. The coach agreed with the statement, pointing out the fact that the contract actually permitted
them to terminate in January, this year.
The player, however, said on his website that he came aboard the club In November last year and was offered a contract that would expire in 2012 with a probationary time of first three months. According to the Frenchman the management told him on January
11, 2011 that the contract will be renewed with a one third of the previously agreed salary and it will be effective until June 30, 2011. He, therefore, felt injustice and left the club.
Kapo started his career for the French club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AJ-Auxerre-c38247 in 1999 and netted the ball nineteen times before his departure to Juventus FC in 2004. He has also represented his country in national uniform. In nine appearances he managed three goals. Before moving
to Celtic he was a part to the English club, Wigan Athletic FC, where he was loaned to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/US-Boulogne-c40838 in 2010.
Celtic are presently looking at Everton FC’s forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Vaughan-c17722 to fill in the space created by Kapo’s departure. The new recruit will cost the Celtic management around 250,000 pounds on loan but the clubs are at distance from agreement as the player
is available for 2 million pounds.
The English player has caught the Scottish club’s attention because he has been playing at loan since 2009. He has put on the Derby County FC’s jersey in 2009. James has also played for Leicester City and Crystal Palace at loan in 2010. He scored five goals
for the Eagles in fourteen appearances. The player scored 7 goals for Everton.
