Celtic's Joe Ledley looking forward to first Old Firm clash
Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to take part in his first Old Firm game against the club’s fiercest rivals, Rangers.
The sides, who are joint-top of the Scottish Premier League after both made 100 percent starts to the season, will face off for the first time this term on Sunday, 24 October.
Ledley, who moved from Cardiff City over the summer, has yet to have a first-hand taste of one of the oldest and most intense rivalries in world football. The teams being level in the table will add extra significance to the clash.
Celtic will be going in to the game on the back of a narrow win over Dundee United, where they were only handed victory when Gary Hooper struck in the 90th-minute to make the score 2-1. Ledley believes that the three points achieved at Tannadice puts Celtic
in a good position to win at Parkhead.
"I am buzzing about the game. I know it is a massive game and I can't wait to get started. Some of the boys down at Cardiff just now have played for the Old Firm clubs and they all say it is a great atmosphere."
"It was a massive result for us against Dundee United because we were under a bit of pressure after Rangers won on Saturday. We played really well and went at them straight from the first whistle and could have been three or four goals ahead by the end of
the first half. It went to the last couple of minutes but the game should have been over by the break due to the amount of chances we had."
"With the players and management team we have, we can dominate most teams in this league."
