I've heard the statement "Celtics needed 3 All-Stars just to win the finals, LOL" too many times...So what, good teams win the championship, and they were the best team

If you are using the quote to hate on the Celtics, It doesnt even make sense, because you are just agreeing that they were the best team....

Their is a differnce in a "group" of players, and a "team"...Talent alone doesnt win championships, doesnt even gaurantee that you get out the first round.......

BTW Im not a Celtic Bandwagon Fan, they knocked my team out of the playoffs, lol...but I have moved on, and havnt made excuses for it......

So why hate on the Celtics, for having the best "Team"?

  1. yea, guess what the laker team did with 4 future hall of famers, well one was injured, so 3 future hall of famers?

lost to the pistons in 5, who have probably no future hall of famers.

so what does that tell you, a real team beats a team filled with star players.

  2. What did the Celtics do last year without KG and Ray Allen?

Without this talent(KG & Allen) the Celtics would have won maybe 30 games!!

    Guess talent matter !!

I'm a Lakers fan and i picked the Celtics to get to the finals all year because of 1 thing ."TALENT"

  3. Talent is obviously important. But Teamwork more important.

Great teamwork can beat great talent. Look at USA "Dream Teams" when they show up at international tournaments thinking this would be exhibition games. 15 All-NBA Stars gets blown away by less talented national teams who play team ball.

Celtics have great talent with Big 3+. But these are guys who value winning as a team. At different stages in last year's playoffs, 1 or more of the Big 3 struggled... but the Celtics made it through because of role players and extra effort/output from their productive star(s).

I'm a Suns fan but love the C's. Their Big 3 play hard and are great role models for the game - happy to see them finally get their rings.

  4. I agree with everything there. Teams wins championships, not an individual.

  5. All teams need at least 3 really good players to win its impossible to win with just one or two

  6. Yeah. I don't get the whole thing either. Most championship teams need 2 totally dominating players or 3 all star caliber players. Especially in the NBA of the last say 20 years. Lakers had Kareem and Magic, Old Celts had the old Big 3, Pistons had Thomas, Dumars and Rodman/Lambeer, Rockets had Hakeem and Sam Cassell, Spurs have had Timmy, Manu and Parker. Heck, even Jordan needed Scottie.

  7. isnt that funny how they are rated as one of the best teams but they needed 3 superstars to do so

  8. Celtics were able to pick the right unselfish stars and get them together on one team.  There are many big three out there and can't win squat but have a lot of talent....Nets did have Carter, Jefferson, Kidd, Wizards...Arena, butler, Jamison. Spurs...ginoboli, parker, duncan.  Mavs now, kidd, nowitzki, and howard.  Celtics won with the big three, but it was team defense and key role players like posey, house, even perkins had a breakout game. Rondo growing up before our eyes.  That other guy can't remember his names that had a break out game also. Cassel old body even got in it.  Celtics had everybody playing shut down defense at all times.  That why they won.

  9. Exactly!! Stupid reporters.. I don't know why people just can't accept the fact the Celtics won the championship fair and square.

  10. With only Paul Pierce, how far did they go? Nowhere. But with PP, KG, and Ray Ray, how far did they go? Finals Champ Right? That just goes to prove that they definitely need 3 all stars.

  11. stop hating man

    celtics are the champs

  12. People just can't get their head around the fact that 3 stars beats 1 star (Celtics beat Kobe) and think that the celtics are cheap for having too many stars. Name a team that has won the championships with only 1 player and 1 player only?

  13. I'm a Wolves fan and don't like the C's...obviously. But I don't "hate" on them. Danny Ainge did what he needed to do to create the best team...and he did. I'll tip my hat, outstretch my hand, and say congrats.
