This just in from Crash_dot_net : http://www.crash.net/motorsport/wsbk/news/165102-0/canepa_joins_on_third_xerox_ducati.html

Now this is just a smoke screen. As our good friend " Proc " has pointed out to me earlier today, Sete is already lapping faster then Marco. Marco is gone any minute now.

This whole " Canepa joins on third Xerox Ducati. " is just to get the kid on the red bike.

Ill put £10 on at Ladbrooks, that before the end of this season, Niccolò Canepa is on the Desmo GP08.

Good move from Ducati?

  1. Evening wiggy -

I don't know ifg this is a good move from Ducati- but may i just say that the bookies were open when I left the pub earlier and let me tell you £10 at Ladbrooks is just the thin edge of the wedge!

It's all speculation, but I think I should point out that although speculation is fun - blowing all your dosh on a 3 legged b*****d nag who should be pulling a feckin cart isn't! and betting on the ffoty won't help! (or the gp while I think of it - okay I'll stop typing now  they've got to penalties and thankfully - I don't have money on this ))

    night night lovie x

  2. May be a good one but a rather disloyal one, after all the years Melandri rode for them and after he won them a world title :((((.I know that this is the way the business is -you either do the job excellently or you're given the sack, but anyway it still is horrible.

Probably Ducati have taken the best of Marco and there is nothing more he can offer and his time has passed. But it's a fact thet Ducati are having problems in season 2008.If Melandri's riding had been a problem, what is there to say about Stoner -such a talented(young) rider also isn't doing so great in the GPs(considering his potential and last season performance).

Melandri's leaving doesn't come as such a big surprise,it was sth expected and many times mentioned by the racing analisers. But in my view all that Cenepa will do will be just to get one or two positions higher than Melandri in the ranking, which for sure doesn't make him "Ducati's salvation".

  3. ill put £50 on that Melandri will be sulking off to WSBK before next year....

If Niccolo is half as good in W. Superbikes as he was in superstock them i'm sure he will go far.

    Maybe not until 2009 though.

  4. I have to say that it maybe won't be a good move. I'm sorry but I'm just too pessimistic. Marco was and still is one h**l of a rider, I just think that the problems with Ducati will go on until they figure it out that the second rider has to be either a Stoner cloning or they need to work and develop a bike suitable for a normal guy. There is just something wrong for me, because so many has been unfortunate with the red team and Marco was also doing well before the season start. Yes, Sete for example is doing well on practices but I don't think he'll be able to pull it off when the time comes. For me Ducati needs to work on the bike.

  5. He might just be a replacement for bayliss. I think Hayden has to be the best bet for the GP ride. I see the Vermulen going to WSBK rumours have started too. which opens Ben's Seat for 09. Silly season fully opened.
