Census look up please for 1901?

Question

For some reason I have been unable to find the 1901 census details of Alfred Allen (born 1875) married to Jane Ann (nee Gallagher 1875) Allen . Jane Allen died in 1952 in Watford but I believed in 1901 they resided in Yeovil Somerset. Alfred 's occuptation was Domestic Gardener/Coachman. If anone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I have been through the usual channels but cannot find any trace. Thanks Irene

One of the most used paid sites has fantastic information on it. Someone at work has an account with them and she pulled up census and military data on my great grandfather inside of 10 seconds.  Even had a visual of his signature on his military form there.

I'm not sure which one she was using (it's a holiday,won't see her till Monday) but she said it was a $125 subscription for a one year use of their site.

In answer to previous answer it could be Ancestry.com they do charge unlike the friends united site. I believe that you can access ancestry from your library free.  Not everyone is on the census as its only taken on one day and if people were travelling or out they did not appear on it.

I have checked the 1901 Census for Somerset, Cornwall,

Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire and London with no success, the problem is that the transcripts are not always complete or acurate, and the only way to check for certain is to trawl through the actual census pages,

area by area,unfortunately a mind numbing exercise !!

Edit : unless the people concerned were out of the country, there is a very good chance they were recorded on the census somewhere, because in theory even if they were away from home they should have been recorded at their destination address, provided of course that the enumerator had not made his visit before they reached it, they would had to actually be on a bus or train to miss it !
