  1. Gus?

  2. It looks as though they've shortened his name - obviously starting with a copperplate "J".  Could it be something like Jas (short for Jasper)?

  3. Looks to me like Chas.w.Harrison (Chas short for Charles)

  4. Can see why your having trouble. The first letter i reckon is a J as if you look at the J in Jane in the sarah jane harrison part it looks the same, Not sure about the rest but middle initial i think is an E. Will keep checking to see if it jumps out at me.

  5. That's a hard one.  It looks like a "Ju" to me and probably an "s" and a dot.  It is hard to tell what the name really is, and this is a common problem with census records in the late 1800s and early 1900s.  "Justin" could be one version of the name, I'm not sure.

The problem with census takers is that they had to take just anyone they could get to do the work, and who could at least write and be somewhat dependable.

  6. Looks like Sue Harrison (Sure about Harrison but you probably knew that was correct)

  7. Could be Jim E Harrison because it is a son and the first letter looks like the J of Sarah Jane.
